Each year, Troy and I are overwhelmed at the generosity and support of our Nancy Greene Parents. We aren't big on giving speeches (as some of you witnessed at the banquet) but we can't express how fortunate we feel to be involved in a club that is much more than just a sports organization - it's really become part of our family. The connections we have made and new friends we have met have enriched our lives and we are very thankful.
At the end of the year we are always thinking ahead to the next season - what can we do to improve? How can our kids get the best out of the program? How can we encourage more families to see the benefits of our club and join? Many questions that we'll be working on in the "off" season....
Thanks again for the wonderful gift - we'll be using it to take our family to Disneyland this summer.

FINAL WEEKEND - SKI BOTH DAYS
I've gotten an update about our final weekend - we'd like as many NGers as possible to come out on both days to ski. There will be a skier cross fun race on the Saturday, and a fun slalom on Sunday.
There won't be any formal sign up for skiers who are coming both days, so groups may be changed up at the last minute.
We also need some help from parents for some timing on the Saturday at the skier cross. If you're available to help, check in with the coaches.
Hope to see lots of kids there.

FINAL NG WEEKEND
Can you believe it's almost over? The season has just gone by so quickly....
PARENT MEETINGS
We'd like to change the times of our parent meetings next weekend. We had originally thought 9:15, but forgot about the club fun race that would be nice to watch. We'll have our meetings on both Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 pm. This will be a chance to introduce the new age categories for ski club and hopefully answer any questions you may have.
CLUB FUN RACE
As mentioned above, the kids are having a fun race on their final weekend. Not sure on the details exactly, but should be good to watch.
BANQUET
Don't forget, banquet is on next Saturday - doors open 6:00. Typically we try and do the NG awards before dinner begins - hopefully we can do that again this year. The kids that go to the banquet will get their report cards and participation trophies that night.
NG AWARDS
For those not going to the banquet, we'll be having an informal passing out of the trophies and report cards at lunch on Sunday in the club cabin. If we don't see you at either the banquet or Sunday, we'll put your report cards in your family folder (the trophies won't fit, so you'll have to find a coach to get one for you.)

COAST ZONE RACE
The Coast Zone Race is on April 14 - 15. This race is open to our NG kids aged 9-12. There will be a slalom and Giant Slalom race.
If you want to race, you will have to sign up via the link on the right side of the blog BEFORE Wednesday, April 4th.
The cost is $50 for the two days.
We will be needing many of our NG parents to help volunteer for this event. There should be a sign up in the club cabin for volunteer positions.

BANQUET
Our annual banquet is on Saturday, April 7th upstairs in the main lodge. Doors open at 6:00 pm. There's two buffets - one for kids for $15 and one for adults for $30. There's also a cash bar.
Please sign up at the club cabin (there should be a sign up sheet) or email Brian Adam at b.padam@shaw.ca to let him know how many tickets you would like. Normally you pay that night at the banquet.

UPCOMING EVENTS
The next month will be quite busy with many of our groups. Here's some important dates and events to remember...
FINAL WEEKEND
The final weekend for NG is April 7th-8th. We will run a club skier cross race on Saturday April 7th and we will run a club slalom race on Sunday April 8th. Should be a fun weekend!

The K-Stars are invited to participate in the speed camp April 25 - 28. The mountain is closed but they open it up for our racers. There is an extra cost, but kids can earn back the money when they participate in mountain clean up later in the year. Contact John Trimmer for more info and to let him know if your child will attend.

Each season the club travels to Mt Hood (Timberline) Oregon for an on snow ski camp in late August. John chooses late August because the lineups of the early season are gone, the weather is historically very good and we often get cool nights and naturally frozen snow. This seasons camp is booked for the following days, August 21-24 (25th off) and 26-29
John would like to extend an invitation to any Kstars that wish to join in for first 4 days? or whole camp? The Mount Hood area is a wonderful vacation spot with tons of outdoor activities like biking, hiking and of course water sports at the nearby Hood river gorge. Again, contact John if you're interested

SUN PEAKS SPECIAL K1 EVENT THIS YEAR
We have 14 kids traveling to Sun Peaks this year - not sure who the coaches are yet, but we will have two going. Our race meeting is on this Sunday (March 11) at 9:15. We'll be going over the race notice and answering any questions for those who have never been before.
